Higgly Gown - 1st Fitting

Yeah... went for 1st fitting for my wedding gown after the long wait of 3 weeks... =)

For the last entire week, I was really excited and can't wait to see my dream gown. Before the fitting, Anna had reminded me few times to bring my shoes and suitable undergarments for the fitting. I was quite surprised coz the gown is already 90% complete as i thought the first fitting would be just the 'base' of the gowns without the accessories. I've totally forgotten about the shoes i've brought along and straight away rushed to the fitting room for the gown. Anna is kind enough to pass me the shoes through the fitting room curtain and help me with the fitting as i can't reach the zip at my back.

Ken came just in time when i was ready. Standing in front of the mirror while Anna examined the every details to make sure they are in place and mark down places that need alteration. I heard the 'wow', "this is a very nice piece" and "very fitting' from everyone in the room. I could see the satisfaction from Ken's face too. To my very own surprise, the gown actually fits exactly to my body and cling to every inch perfectly. I feel very confident wearing it and did not have the fear of the bustier falling off. Anna and Kris are happy that it fits well even at the 1st fitting and they just have to alter some minor parts of it and put on some beadings....

Ken was busy taking pics but most of the pics were blur because of his shaky hands, maybe he's more excited than I do... hehe... i could feel the sense of belonging once i put on the gown, and the feeling is totally different from trying out the gowns at the bridal house where the gown have been worn by many girls which you do not know. Afterall, both of us think it's worth while coz the gown is so unique and carries so much of sentimental values for us. Although it's a lil'bit too pricey for us now, but I bet, even with a lot more money in future, we wouldn't be able to buy these sweet memories coz it's only going to be once in a lifetime.

Lastly, we're so happy cos Anna will design my Evening Gown too!!! Will update again on the next fitting..... And Ken will update on our furniture hunting last week...

No pics on the gown but the delicious osyters we had during the buffet session with sis and the kids.....

Venue, Ring & Suit

Last weekend was eventful.

18/3 Saturday - We went to check out the venue for the dinner reception. Actually we've been wanting to check it out with our Wedding Coordinator for some time now, but the dates kept clashing so finally we agreed on 18/3/2006. The wedding was about to begin when we arrived so we quickly whizz through the entrance and made our way to the side, in case people thought we were here for the wedding.
Our attentive glaze often caught unwanted attention as people were curious as to why we were there. We tried as much as possible to move away from public view so as to not disturb them. Anyway we towards the other side and manage to get a good view of the proceedings. The manager was kind enough to ask us whether we needed any assitance and showed us around other facilities. Vans & I were pretty impressed by the ambience, surroundings, decoration and service of the entire place.
20/3 Monday - We submitted our forms to the National Registration Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara) for processing and booked 10th July 2006 as the day for our wedding registration. Both of us took leave for the day and had planned to use it to the max. We then met up with Vans' make-up artist to discuss the make-up, hairdo and other details. She seems very confident and her client list was long as she has been in the business for 8 years. We decided to book her services for our wedding day so we paid some deposit up front.

We went to Midvalley after that for some shopping and boy we were in for a surprise. We never expected to buy anything when we ventured into a jewelry shop but the kind and patient sales person took time to show us different designs and gave us huge discounts. So that helped us in making our decision to buy our wedding band there and then. Vans' said I couldn't put up our actual ring here, so I have to make do with a picture of a ring rather than OUR ring. So for those that are curious, come on the actual day and you'll get a glimpse of it. Nothin out of this world but its something that is meaningful for both of us.

The surprise didn't end there as I too bought a suit for myself, one that I've been eyeing for years, literally years. So we've spend quite a bit on this trip alone, but its all for the big day. Its better to spread out our spending rather than have it all towards the final few weeks of month before. We kind of enjoy this experience, as we always knew we were going to purchase these items but never did set a date for it :)

Climbing Up the Ladder

The picture of Ken chauffeuring me to and back from work, having dinner after work, chit-chatting on the journey home is still vivid in my mind. I really miss those days, it's time to get a lil' bit more independent with Ken's help and Ken's pampering, during weekends at least hehe....

After been working for three years at the same company, seeing a lot of colleagues resigned and freshies coming in. Little did i realise, i have become one of those seniors in my group. However, these 3 years of hard work, at least.... i see some achievements:

1. Completed Master in Telecommunication (with Mum's help paying off the initial payment)
2. Bought my own car
3. Been promoted to Snr Engineer (finally)
4. I'm now officially with 3 years working experience on 030306 (Joined the company on this auspicious date of 030303)
5. Ken completed his MBA (his achievement is also part of my achievement hehe)
6. Last but not least, managed to stop at "Level 5" and Getting Married.... =)

True Love

Just wanted to share this love story that touched my heart.

From the very beginning, the girl's family objected strongly on her dating this guy. Saying that it has got to do with family background & that the girl will have to suffer for the rest of her life if she were to be with him.

Due to family's pressure, the couple quarrel very often. Though the girl love the guy deeply, but she always ask him: "How deep is your love for me?" As the guy is not good with his words, this often cause the girl to be very upset. With that & the family's pressure, the girl often vent her anger on him. As for him, he only endure it in silence.

After a couple of years, the guy finally graduated & decided to
further his studies in overseas. Before leaving, he proposed to the girl: "I'm not very good with words. But all I know is that I love you. If you allow me, I will take care of you for the rest of my life. As for your family, I'll try my best to talk them round. Will you marry me?"

The girl agreed, & with the guy's determination, the family finally gave in & agreed to let them get married. So before he leave, they got engaged. The girl went out to the working society, whereas the guy was overseas, continuing his studies. They sent their love through emails & phone calls. Though it's hard, but both never thought of giving up.

One day, while the girl was on her way to work, she was knocked down by a car that lost control. When she woke up, she saw her parents beside her bed. She realized that she was badly injured. Seeing her mum crying, she wanted to comfort her. But she realized that all that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh. She has lost her voice......

The doctors says that the impact on her brain has caused her to lose her voice. Listening to her parents' comfort, but with nothing coming out from her, she broke down. During the stay in hospital, besides silence cry,.....it's still just silence cry that companied her. Upon reaching home, everything seems to be the same. Except for the ringing tone of the phone. Which pierced into her heart everytime it rang. She does not wish to let the guy know. & not wanting to be a burden to him, she wrote a letter to him saying that she does not wish to wait any longer.

With that, she sent the ring back to him. In return, the guy sent millions & millions of reply, and countless of phone calls,.. all the girl could do, besides crying, is still crying....

The parents decided to move away, hoping that she could eventually forget everything & be happy. With a new environment, the girl learn sign language & started a new life. Telling herself everyday that she must forget the guy.

One day, her friend came & told her that he's back. She asked her friend not to let him know what happened to her. Since then, there wasn't anymore news of him. A year has passed & her friend came with an envelope, containing an invitation card for the guy's wedding. The girl was shattered. When she open the letter, she saw her name in it instead. When she was about to ask her friend what's going on, she saw the guy standing in front of her. He used sign language telling her "I've spent a year's time to learn sign language. Just to let you know that I've not forgotten our promise. Let me have the chance to be your voice. I Love You. With that, he slipped the ring back into her finger. The girl finally smiled.

IF u really like the story, repost it so that ur frens can read it too......-don't u just love happy ending- "We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."

Measurements for Gown

Time really flies, its March already. But towards the end of Feb, Vans and I went back to see Anna from That Special Occassion to have her "higgly gown" done. The 10% discount voucher that we got from the Wedding Fair in Prince Hotel did us some good after all.

Anna was very honest and professional in her approach. We like her openess in accepting our ideas and the way she churned her brain to enhance our ideas so that the overall effect of the gown reflect the ideal that lies in Vans head, and on the drawing, for that matter.
After agreeing to the design, Anna proceeded to take Vans measurements and I took the opportunity to steal a couple of shots, of which most were banned by Vans. Anna even complained that we should have warned her that we are taking pics, as she would have put on some better clothes and makeup... =)

So Vans is looking forward to 25/3, the date which Anna told us to come back for the first fitting. I'm sure it will look magnificent on her.
