Kitchen & Lightings almost complete...

After weeks of planning, and negotiating with the contractor. Work finally begun on 2nd May. I patiently check the progress daily, sneaking out during lunch time or after work to check on the progress and to ensure everything is where we wanted it to be.

After installing lightings

To our pleasant surprise, everything is turning out well and according to plan. The work is almost complelete, pending the installation of the lights and fan for the rooms upstairs, some patching up on the wall, and installation of the plug points. Then they will wash the whole place before handing the keys back to us and collecting the final payment.

We still have to schedule for painting some parts of the walls that were hacked to accomodate some news cablings for the wall light in the living and also the master bedroom, but that shouldn't pose too much of a problem since its just minor patches. Hope to have it ready by end of the week, where Vans mum is coming over. I'm sure she would like to check on our progress as well. The last time she came the house was still empty and "grilless"

Appreciate my parents as well for checking out the house when we are not free, making sure the contractor is not short-changing us. Before I forget, I need to go out now and get the doorbell I promised to pass to the contractor for installation today.

So much things.....

There are so much things to look forward to these few months... From our portrait photography to my convocation.

Ken and me had been spending the last few weekends shopping for home-furnishing, Ken's attire and gown fitting. The public holidays now are very much awaited, so that we could have more time for the wedding preparations.

Ken is checking out the progress of the renovation at the house almost everyday. Luckily his office is so near that it's convenient to drop by at the house during lunch hour or after work. Thanks for the good work on selecting the lights hehehe... Can't wait to see it tonight.

Upon checking my shopping list for the weddings, there are so many things to buy, bedsheets, dining wares, decorations for rooms etc etc =(

Both of us are overwhelmed with wedding preparations and home furnishing, and excited while making it happen. But i learn an important thing during this process -- delegates the tasks. One person alone will not be able to cope with it.

My parents are coming over next weekends, my sister is going to deliver anytime soon, if not end of this month. Another new member join our family =)

Went for french manicure while waiting for ken done with his hair =)

The Tide is BLUE...!!!

I have to digress a bit from our usual theme in this blog. CHELSEA has won the English Premiership for the 2nd year running!! And winning it in front of Manchester United makes it all the sweeter. I'm not the type that gloat about the club I support but some MU fans really irk me to the max. Since that faithful day more than 11 years ago I have been constantly ridiculed by those who did not welcome the fact that there was a single soul that would support any other club other than MU, Arsenal or Liverpool.
Well, I've always done things my way, albeit not the easiest way, at least I can say I did it the way I wanted... (stubborn... I could almost hear Vans say that... even through cyberspace... lol).

So much for my footballing exploit, time to get ready to go checkout the new house. The workers told me that they will start the plaster ceiling today. We were supposed to get the lights yesterday but the owner has decided to go on a short holiday, thus leaving the shop closed for 3 days. I guess we can only have the lights delivered earliest on Wednesday. We expect the house to be ready by end of the week, latest by 11/5/2006.
