CNY in Kuching

We spent five days in Kuching during CNY. We had re-reunion dinners, open houses, visiting and of cos some shopping. In my family, reunion dinner is not complete without steamboat. So this year, my parents prepared for another round of reunion dinner despite on CNY eve since both of us were back on the 2nd day. We used to have the traditional steamboat with charcoal but mum has replaced it with the electronic one since it's more convenient.

CNY celebration in Kch is abit different from KL, maybe i feel more homely or maybe the culture is a bit different.

We didn't have chance to eat all the local delicacies like kolo mee, laksa, kueh chap, tomato kueh tiaw cos most chinese shops are still closed for CNY. Anyway, the home-cook food is good enough to keey my cravings at bay.

We met up with my ex-schoolmates, uni-mates and can't believe there are so much changes in them already. Most of them are married and have kids.

Some pics taken, first and foremost the steamboat and the rest.

The 'Loh" duck which you can't find it in KL, Ken likes this:

The blooms in my mum's garden, dunno what's the names, the first one should be Lily:
